Fukuchi Fossil Museum

The Fukuchi Fossil Museum is a place where you can see many fossils of marine creatures that lived approximately 400 million years ago in the Early Devonian period of the Paleozoic era, long before the age of dinosaurs, which were discovered in Fukuchi.
The fossils were preserved and collected by Yamakoshi Satoru of Fukuji since the 1960s, and were later opened as a fossil museum on the second floor of the Fukuji family home in Fukuji Onsen's Folktale Village in 2004.
Among the exhibits is a fossil of an ostracode from the Ordovician period, approximately 480 million years ago. This fossil was only discovered in Fukuchi, Japan, making it a place where you can see extremely valuable materials.
