Fukuchi Aodaru Light-up Oku-Hida Winter Story
"Aodaru" refers to the thick, blue ice pillars that can only be seen in the mountains during winter. This natural phenomenon is caused by water dripping from rocks freezing. In Fukuchi Onsen, these beautiful Aodaru have been recreated in the hot spring town and are a beloved winter tradition.
During the special period, the "Ice Walking Path Light-Up" event will be held, allowing visitors to stroll behind the Aodaru ice sculpture. The illuminated Aodaru, seen up close, is truly as beautiful as a giant jewel. Furthermore, on specific days during the special period, the local lion dance will be performed, making it a luxurious event where visitors can enjoy the mystery of nature and local culture at the same time.
