Tochio Onsen cherry blossom illumination
The cherry blossoms in Okuhida typically bloom about a month later than in the lowlands, starting around late April. Within Okuhida, the cherry blossoms at Tochio Onsen are the earliest to bloom, and the blossoms gradually progress to those in higher elevation hot spring areas, allowing visitors to enjoy them until around mid-May.
In the Tochio Onsen Doya area, the rows of cherry trees are illuminated with paper lanterns, creating a late spring atmosphere in Okuhida. During the day, the combination of moss phlox and cherry blossoms under the Doya Bridge is also very beautiful, making it a perfect spot for a stroll.
