Tochio Onsen cherry blossom illumination
The cherry blossoms in Okuhida typically bloom about a month later than in the lowlands, starting around late April. Within Okuhida, the cherry blossoms at Tochio Onsen are the earliest to bloom, and the blossoms gradually progress to higher elevations in the hot spring areas, allowing visitors to enjoy them until mid-May. In the Tochio Onsen Doya area, the cherry tree-lined streets are illuminated with lanterns, creating a beautiful scene of Okuhida's late spring. During the day, the combination of moss phlox and cherry blossoms under the Doya Bridge is stunning, making it a perfect spot for a stroll.
