Shin-Fu Trail

The Shinobi Trail is a walking trail approximately 117km long connecting Matsumoto and Takayama. As you walk along mountain passes, ancient roads, and through rural villages, you can encounter the magnificent nature of the Northern Alps and the history and culture that thrive in the region. Along the trail is the Okuhida Onsenkyo hot spring area, which boasts one of the largest numbers of hot springs in Japan, and the time to soothe your body in the hot springs after your walk is also a highlight of this trip. Rather than "climbing" the mountains, you "walk" them to savor the scenery and the way of life, and with each step, a story unique to this land will be etched into your heart.
