Nakao Kamakura Festival Oku-Hida Winter Story
Kamakura (snow huts) of various sizes appear in the grounds of Nakao Hakusan Shrine, enveloped in a sacred atmosphere and comfortable silence. This region has a long-standing tradition of families building kamakura (snow huts) to enjoy winter, and the faintly lit kamakura create the atmosphere of a snowy country. The scenery of the kamakura standing amidst the gently falling snow is truly picturesque. It's perfect for social media, and you're sure to capture a memorable photo. Every year, local events such as lion dances are also held in conjunction with the kamakura festival. For detailed information on this year's events, please check the Winter Story website.
