Okuhida Sabo School

Oku-Hida Sabo Juku is a learning facility where you can learn everything about landslides and sabo in Oku-Hida. The facility provides an easy-to-understand introduction to the role and mechanisms of sabo, and exhibits tools and valuable materials actually used in sabo projects. The Oku-Hida region, surrounded by mountains, has long faced landslides and carried out sabo projects to protect people's lives. This is a valuable place where you can learn about the history and technology behind sabo projects, as well as about coexistence with nature. While enjoying the magnificent nature of the Northern Alps, you can also learn about the region's disaster prevention efforts, which will help you to appreciate the charm of Oku-Hida even more deeply.
