The course, which takes about three hours one way from Nakao Plateau in Shinhotaka Onsen, changes from a dense forest to rugged volcanic terrain. Once you cross Nakao Pass, you&#039;ll be greeted by a spectacular view of Kamikochi below, and you can also continue down the mountain. From the summit, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the famous peaks of the Northern Alps.
