What is Open-Air Bath Day?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

June 26th is "Open-Air Bath Day," a date chosen because of the wordplay "ro-ten-bu-ro" (open-air bath).
Established by the Okuhida Onsenkyo Tourism Association, this event has been a regular occurrence since 1993 and has been enjoyed by many hot spring enthusiasts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2026 marks the 32nd annual "Hot Spring Hopping Day" in the Okuhida Onsenkyo area.
*Some events may be suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Okuhida Onsenkyo is a treasure trove of open-air baths, a rarity in Japan, and is said to have the largest number of them in the country.
On the day of the event, among the approximately 100 open-air baths located within the hot spring resort area, including Hirayu, Fukuchi, Shin-Hirayu, Tochio, and Shin-Hotaka, we will be showcasing some of the most popular open-air baths.6 locations<\/strong>We will be opening the facility to the public free of charge for one day only, so that you can fully enjoy the hot springs and use it to refresh your mind and body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can enjoy a unique Okuhida experience by visiting a variety of hot springs, such as open-air baths amidst fresh greenery or rustic baths where you can feel the murmur of the river up close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, a stamp rally will be held, where participants can visit the participating facilities.
Of the 6 locations, 4<\/strong>Collect stamps and receive an original commemorative gift.
Free admission applies only to the six locations designated by the tourism association, so please check before your visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*Please note that not all open-air baths in the Okuhida Onsenkyo area will be open to the public free of charge.
*The five facilities other than Okada Ryokan allow free bathing even without a stamp book. (However, bringing a stamp book is required only at Okada Ryokan.)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
